Product Info

Doug Eaton is a British artist whose work captures the bold spirit and natural beauty of the Forest of Dean—a landscape he knows intimately. Raised in Coleford, at the heart of the forest, Doug went on to study at Cheltenham College of Art in the late 1960s, laying the foundation for a lifelong creative journey.

By 1977, he was painting full-time and exhibiting, including a group show at the Hereford Museum. After a break from painting, Doug returned to his passion in 2001, revisiting the Forest of Dean as both subject and source of inspiration. His work channels the energy of the landscape through vivid colour, expressive texture, and dynamic form.

Doug works quickly in acrylics, creating angular, refracted impressions of trees, skies, and terrain. Contrasts play a key role in his compositions—soft versus hard, light versus dark—giving the work a striking visual tension. He prefers a painterly, expressive finish over a polished, clinical look, often leaving dribbles and visible brushstrokes as a reminder of the materiality of paint.

His paintings offer not just representations of place, but a visceral experience of it—translating the rhythm, complexity, and rawness of the Forest of Dean into vibrant, engaging artworks.
Delivery

If the selected print is in stock, the usual lead time is 2 to 3 business days. This is because all orders are created from scratch, and made to order. Once your order is produced and shipped, you'll receive a fulfillment update, automatically.

If any one of the prints you order is currently out of stock, the lead time increases to 7 to 10 business days, in order to allow time for the lithograph printing of your order, as well as the framing, packing and shipping process.

Once a consignment has left us, you will receive updates on it's progress directly from our carriage providers. Unfortunately, we are unable to take specific instructions, directly, but you should be able to communicate these directly to the carriage providers once they have made contact with you.
