Product Info

Colin Ruffell is a British artist whose career has been defined by both innovation and versatility. Born in 1939, he became a professional artist at the age of 26, following studies in painting, design, and printmaking at two art colleges, along with a qualification in psychology and aesthetics from the Open University.

A lifelong pioneer of new techniques, Colin was among the first British art students to experiment with acrylic paint in the early 1960s—a medium that was revolutionary at the time and one he has championed throughout his career. In the 1990s, he was quick to recognise the potential of giclée printing and the internet as tools for expanding how art is shared, reproduced, and exhibited.

Colin’s influence extends beyond the studio. He was elected by The Fine Art Trade Guild as a Court Member and later served as Chair of the Guild’s Printers and Publishers Committee, reflecting his deep commitment to the professional art world.

Artistically, Colin’s style is notably diverse, ranging from playful, childlike imagery to more traditional landscapes and richly layered abstract works. Across all his pieces, he explores the dynamic interplay of colour, texture, and shape—continually pushing the boundaries of his practice.

Delivery

If the selected print is in stock, the usual lead time is 2 to 3 business days. This is because all orders are created from scratch, and made to order. Once your order is produced and shipped, you'll receive a fulfillment update, automatically.

If any one of the prints you order is currently out of stock, the lead time increases to 7 to 10 business days, in order to allow time for the lithograph printing of your order, as well as the framing, packing and shipping process.

Once a consignment has left us, you will receive updates on it's progress directly from our carriage providers. Unfortunately, we are unable to take specific instructions, directly, but you should be able to communicate these directly to the carriage providers once they have made contact with you.
